Stepping into the unknown…

Well as you may or may not know this is my FIRST EVER blog post. A little bit nervous, but mostly excited. I’ve been told my whole life “you wont know if you like it if you don’t try it”.

Normally I’d tell you I don’t consider myself a good writer, but that’s going to change with practice. After all “practice makes perfect”!  After listening to multiple podcasts by Pat Flynn (I highly recommend you check his content out on and following blogs by other friends I was inspired to give it a go and try it out. A couple base line things I learned from Pat and definitely agree with:

1. Keep it brief.

2. You can talk, talk, talk and plan, plan, plan but at some point it is time to take ACTION!

3. Pat didn’t consider himself a good podcaster and admits it’s a little uncomfortable to do something that you are not comfortable doing (I think we can all agree with that) but by trying something new we learn, we grow, and we get better at the things we weren’t already good at.

4. Quality is essential for people to keep coming back for more!

After knowing these attributes I will try to keep it brief and to the point, I am TAKING ACTION, I am an Amateur blogger but full on ready to “Step into the unknown” and try something new, learn, & become a better writer, and I will put out quality content! YES!

If you feel that i could be doing something better, or enhancing my quality in ANYWAY please leave me a comment!  Coming from an art background I’ve been in MANY critiques where people have hated and loved my work and have given me their input.  By informing me of what you do and don’t like you will be helping me to become a better blogger and a better writer. What’s even BETTER is that you will be helping YOURSELF because I will do my best to make changes and produce content that YOU will WANT to read!

As of now I have yet to decide my exact format and what I will be posting on. What I do know is that I want to provide inspiration.  I heard a story tonight that I wanted to share with a lot of people. It is inspirational and is centered around helping people and having a good heart.  Like my blog it is short but with a BIG take away!

I went out to dinner with my family last night to a local restaurant in Ambler, PA called “Fireside”.  My dad shared this story:

On Monday nights they have Pizza Night where kids under 12 eat for free! For months a certain Father (Jim for the sake of the story) was coming in regularly on Monday nights with his kids. It was a fun way to get out of the house and to have good father, children bonding time.  Lots of TVs playing sports, a warm cozy environment, but quiet enough that they could enjoy this night out together on a school night! One night the manager came to their table to talk to them, being that they had become regulars. Jim thanked the manager for providing such an amazing deal for their family and explained how it was a great fun way to get out BUT more importantly it put food on the table for his kids until he got his feet under him.  Jim was struggling through the economy and doing his best to feed his kids. Some nights this was possible and others he was simply unable to. Fireside was doing more than they knew.

The take away from this is that by doing something nice and positive for your community you never know how you will be changing lives, big or small. This story relates a little bit to my blog(s). I’m putting my content out there, if it touches at least one persons life and makes a difference than I am doing something that will help my community be a better place.

PS from the start of writing this to the finish I am already brewing up some future ideas! If there is something you are thinking about doing then “JUST DO IT!”

Law of inertia: Objects at rest stay at rest. Objects in motion stay in motion.  The hardest part is getting started….I’m in motion, hence, I AM STAYING IN MOTION! Hope you enjoy this journey with me! 🙂 YES!

One last thing. I want to give a Shout Out (SO) to my two mentors in the blogging world, whether they knew it or not they’ve been teaching the ways through each of their posts. I’ve been following these two guys and their blog posts weekly for the past few months. They provide great content and bring so much happiness, energy, and excitement to each of their blogs. I recommend you check them out:

Joe Sweeney  & Anastacio Martinez

Until next time, nothing but love, peace, & happiness. Wishing everyone a happy and healthy new year! Make it a great one!

  1. WOW!!! Way to go Darian. Congratulations on writing your first blog post and for taking action to spread a message of inspiration. This world need more people like you!!

I really liked your honesty, sincerety and authenticity by sharing how are you feeling and what are your intentions in this blog :-).

You said that you don’t consider yourself as a good writer but Les Brown said it best, “You don’t have to be great to get started but you have to get started to be great.”

Remember, this is a new journey for you and as you move on you will make the necessary adjustments to make it better every day. I’m still learn something new every day and my mentality is “When I Know Better I Do Better.” I learned this from Oprah.

Just keep writing from your heart, be genuine and follow your bliss :-).

Keep up the great work and you know that you can count with me anytime!!! You know where to find me. HEHE

I deeply appreciate you for mentioning me in this post!!!

    You are a CHAMPION :-).

    • Taso! Thank you for checking in and reading my FIRST blog post!

I appreciate your feedback on what you liked about my post and the encouragement to continue with blogging! I definitely agree with both Les Brown and Oprah and will remember these words of wisdom as I continue to blog and grow.

      Have a great day! Best,
